Even though I do love my mac computers and devices there are some things that I simply don’t like and one of them is relying on iphoto to download and organise my photos!
Here are the steps I use to move photos from my phone to my computer using PREVIEW
1/ Connect your iphone to your mac computer via the supplied USB cable
2/ Open “Preview” application which comes with all mac computers (search for it in your applications folder if unsure)
3/ Go to Menu bar and click on ‘File’ then scroll down until you come to ‘import from YOUR NAME’s iphone’
4/ A window will open up with all the photos that are stored on your phone, make a decision to select your photos or import all:
5/ Click on ‘Import’ or ‘Import All’ and the next window will appear allowing you to choose where to store the photos on your computer. This step is where you take charge of how you create your own folders and where you store your photos (on your computer, to an external hard drive to a remote location)…
6/ This will take a few seconds or a few minutes depending on how many photos you are working with. Preview will then open up a preview page when finished to show you all the photos you have downloaded, from here I recommend that you make a second back up to another location for safe keeping.
